This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Hasbro, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies that operate within and outside of the United States (“Hasbro”, “we”, “our” and “us”) collect, use and disclose your information. This Policy applies ONLY to information we collect through the Hasbro Gaming Lab website located at (the “Site”) and does not apply to any other websites operated or controlled by Hasbro.

The Site is maintained in the United States of America. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with data protection laws that differ from those of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred, collected, used, and processed in the United States, and that United States governments, courts or law enforcement or regulatory agencies may be able to obtain disclosure of my information through the laws of the United States. By using the Site and/or providing us with information, you consent to this transfer, which may not offer the same level of data protection as the country where you reside, in accordance with the terms of this Policy. Additionally, if your submission is selected as a finalist, this information will be sent to Indiegogo Inc. (“Indiegogo”) in the United States so that they can help assist you in launching the campaign for your submission through their website. Please be aware that Indiegogo’s websites are not under Hasbro’s control, Hasbro is not responsible for the contents of such websites, and your use of such websites will be governed by IndieGoGo’s terms of use and privacy policies. If you do not consent to the processing, transfer, use and sharing of your personal information, do not use this Site.

1.     Changes to this Policy

We encourage you to review this Policy whenever you access the Site to make sure that you understand our information collection, use and disclosure practices. We may change the provisions of this Policy at any time and will indicate when changes have been made by noting the date of the update at the top of this Policy. Your use of the Site, or any portion thereof, following the posting of such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will provide you with additional notice of such changes by sending you an email at the last email address that you provided us, or by prominently posting notice of the changes on the Site. 2.     What information does Hasbro collect?

Information That You Provide

Hasbro may collect personal information and other information that you provide when you use the Site.  Notably, we may collect your first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, address, age and the first and last names of any co-contributors to your submission when you register with the Site and/or upload a submission.

Information We Collect Automatically From You

When you access or use our Site, we may automatically collect personal and non-personal information about you. For example, when you visit our Site, we collect your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, which may be considered personal information under certain applicable laws and which we use to support our internal operations. The non-personal information we collect includes information about your computer’s operating system, access times, browser type and language and the URL of the website you visited before navigating to our Site. If you access our Site via a mobile device, we may also collect your device make and model, operating system version, mobile web browser type and version, information that may be used to identify your mobile carrier, IP address and the country in which you are using your device, and analytics used to collect aggregate statistical data.

We will not utilize location services to locate your specific device, but we will have access to IP address and country location information. We do not ask you for, access, or track any location-based information, other than country-level information from your mobile device and IP address, which may reveal more detailed information about your location, at any time.

Cookies: Cookies are small data files stored on your computer or mobile device by a website. Among other things, cookies help us improve our Site and your experience, see which areas and features of our Site are popular, and count visits. Clear GIFs: Clear GIFs, sometimes called “web bugs” or “web beacons,” are small electronic images that are placed on a web page or in an email message. We use clear GIFs to monitor user behavior, deliver cookies, collect information, count visits, understand usage and campaign effectiveness and to tell if a recipient has opened and acted upon an email.

Log Files: Log files record website activity on our Site and enable us to gather statistics about our users’ browsing habits. These entries help Hasbro determine (among other things) how many and how often users have accessed or used our Site, which pages of our Site they’ve visited, and other similar data.

The above list provides an example of the non-personal information that is automatically collected via our Site.  We may associate the information we collect from these technologies with other personal information that you provide for the purposes described in this Policy. Please note that we consider aggregated information, which is not personally identifiable, to be non-personal information. We may also tie non-personal information with personal information in order to ensure that the Site meets your needs.  When we tie non-personal information with personal information, it is considered “personal information” for the purposes of this Policy. That means that we will be using and sharing this combined data in the ways described in that section below.

Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how users access and use the Site. These tools and services place cookies, web beacons and other devices or technologies on our Site to enable them to track traffic data. The data collected typically includes information such as your IP address, your Internet Service Provider, your web browser, the time spent on webpages, the links clicked, and the advertisements viewed on those pages. 3.    How does Hasbro use my information?

Use of Information

We use personal information collected through our Site for purposes described in this Policy or otherwise disclosed to you on or in connection with our Site. For example, we may use your information to:

  • Operate and improve our Site;
  • Administer the applicable Game Challenge (“Challenge”), evaluate submissions, and to send you related information;
  • Respond to your comments, questions and requests and provide customer service;
  • Monitor and evaluate trends, usage and activities in connection with the Site;
  • Improve and optimize the Site;
  • Provide marketing communications if you have opted in to them; and
  • Link or combine with other information we get from third parties to help understand your needs and provide you with better service.

Hasbro may store and process information in the United States and other countries.

4.    With whom does Hasbro share my information?

Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties other than as described in this Policy or in connection with the Site, including:

  • For the purpose of administering the Challenge, including identifying and notifying the potential Semi-Finalists, Finalists and/or winners;
  • To send you advertising or promotional materials that you have consented to receive where required by law, including information about new products, contests, features and enhancements, special offers and other events of interest from Hasbro and our select partners;
  • With your consent, including if we notify you through our Site that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.  For example, your information may be shared for prize fulfillment purposes and to otherwise administer the Challenge;
  • With third party vendors, agents, consultants and other service providers who are working on our behalf and need access to your information to carry out their work for us. We seek to ensure that these entities have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal information they obtain from us;
  • When we believe it is necessary or appropriate to (i) comply with applicable law or legal process or to respond to lawful requests or legal authorities; (ii) protect the rights and property of Hasbro and our employees, agents, users and other third parties, including to enforce our agreements, policies and Terms and Conditions of Use ( and protect against fraudulent, abusive, inappropriate, or unlawful use of our Site; and (iii) protect the safety of Hasbro, our users or any third party; and/or
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, bankruptcy or reorganization, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

We may also share aggregated information or information that we have collected from you while on our Site, including on co-branded pages and where we have taken reasonable measures to de-identify such information.

This Policy applies only to information collected on the Site.  Hasbro may provide links to third-party websites.  Your use of such third-party websites is subject to the third-parties’ privacy policies, and we encourage you to read the third parties’ privacy policies before submitting personal or other information or using such websites.

5.    What are my information choices?

Regarding Personal Information

If you have registered with our Challenge, you may at any time review and/or update the contact information we have for you from our database by contacting us at If you choose to send us an email, please be sure to include in your message, the name of the Site and the email address you used to register so that we can verify your request. We will respond to all access requests within 30 days.

Regarding Cookies & Tracking

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Removing or rejecting browser cookies does not necessarily affect third party flash cookies used in connection with our Site. Your account information and access to our Site are sometimes accessible only through the use of an individual user name and password. To protect the confidentiality of personal information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. Please advise us immediately if you believe that the confidentiality of your password has been compromised or that your password has been misused. In addition, always log out and close your browser when you finish your session. Please note that we will never ask you to disclose your password in an unsolicited phone call or email.

Forums, Chat Rooms and Other Public Posting Areas

Please note that any information you include in a message you post to any chat room, forum or other public posting area is available to anyone with Internet access. If you do not want people to know your e-mail address, for example, do not include it in any message you post publicly. PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN DISCLOSING ANY INFORMATION IN CHAT ROOMS, FORUMS AND OTHER PUBLIC POSTING AREAS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE USE BY OTHERS OF THE INFORMATION THAT YOU DISCLOSE IN CHAT ROOMS, FORUMS AND OTHER PUBLIC POSTING AREAS.

6.    Safeguarding Your Information

Hasbro has established policies in an effort to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and/or destruction. For example, Hasbro strives to provide only those employees performing a legitimate business function with access to users’ personal information. Hasbro also reviews its security procedures periodically to consider appropriate new technology and updated methods.

Hasbro retains your information for business purposes, for as long as your account is active and as long as the Challenge is ongoing, and/or as long as is reasonably necessary to provide you with our products and services. We will also retain your information as reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. We may also retain cached or archived copies of your information for a reasonable period of time.

7.    Assignment

In the event that all or part of our assets are sold or acquired by another party, or in the event of a merger, you grant us the right to assign the personal and non-personal information collected via the Site.

8.    Notice Regarding Children Under 13

The Site is not targeted toward and does not knowingly collect information from any person under the age of 13.  If we discover that we have collected such information, we will delete it from our systems.


California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits our visitors who are California residents to request certain information regarding Discovery’s disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
